New Flagship Property Shop Now Open!

Added on December 30, 2014

Against the odds the new office opened it’s doors on the 22nd December 2014. What looked like an impossible task after being located on Melton Road for 28yrs was made easier by the fact we have become a paperless office. Over a period of 3 months all the old files were patiently scanned to our server and shredded for recycling. The new office not only looks fabulous but enjoys a busy high street location next to Barclay’s Bank and opposite M&S. The LED lit window displays are already attracting heavy footfall and the inviting and comfortable interior means that we are giving out an unprecedented number of sales particulars. We... Read more

Wagamama Coming to Albert Rd, West Bridgford! – True or False?

Added on October 14, 2014

I’m afraid it is false….. The swanky new premises at 4 Albert Road, opposite M&S and next to Barclays Bank, are in fact Rex Gooding’s new flagship property shop! The premises should be ready for us before Christmas. There is a lovely story behind the move as in 1960 Rex Gooding (the person!) worked from these exact premises for Savills, then called Walker Walton Hanson, in the drawing room. West Bridgford has changed dramatically in 54 years, although Rex doesn’t look more than handful of decades older…. Sorry Dad! Read more

Market Update for October 2014 by Dan Gooding – Rex Gooding

Added on October 7, 2014

After an incredible year to date, it is so frustrating to see a slow down at the lower end of the market that has been solely caused by Government policy. The Government brought tougher lending criteria in to slow down the housing market and stop a housing bubble. Granted this was required for the London market that has not seen any dip in prices during the recession like the rest of the UK and only a huge increase. Perhaps the Government needs to start treating London and the rest of the UK like two separate markets? The dip in mortgage applications is actually down to people being declined due to the ridiculously tough criteria they now hav... Read more

Market Update by Dan Gooding

Added on January 16, 2014

After the strongest year last year since the dip we all had high hopes for 2014. The media had finally stopped reporting dull and gloom and more positive stories about the help to buy scheme and how banks have began lending again have graced the headlines. Being so optimistic about 2014 could have set us up for a major disappointment but I am pleased to announce the start to the year has exceeded all our expectations. New registered buyer numbers are very high, but most importantly, to combat the problems in previous years with supply and demand, valuation requests are through the roof. We are run off feet, but no one is complaining!! Finally... Read more

Housing Market Recovering ‘Beyond London’

Added on September 13, 2013

The UK’s biggest housebuilder says it is seeing recovery in the market beyond London and southeast England, with demand back at pre-financial crisis levels. Barratt Developments said it now expected to deliver an estimated 45,000 new properties over the next three years. Buyer appetite for its homes was so strong, the company said, that for some sites it was making five to 10 sales on the day of a scheme’s launch. Chief executive Mark Clare said: “We are seeing some very, very strong interest on new sites that we’re launching around the country, even to the point where we’re starting to see queues … which is not something we have ... RICS data shows six-year house price high

Added on September 11, 2013

The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) has released its latest set of numbers on the British housing sector, with the fastest rise in house prices for over six years being recorded in August 2013. The data also shows that new buyer inquiries in the UK have reached an all-time high. RICS observed that the pick-up was ‘not surprising’ as the housing market continued to benefit from the Government’s Help to Buy schemes. CNBC UK presenter Geoff Cutmore suggests that the strong data may ‘further fuel talk of a housing bubble forming in the UK’. Read more

Mortgage borrowers most confident of house price growth

Added on July 19, 2013

Households in every region expect the value of their home to rise over the next 12 months, says the latest Knight Frank / Markit confidence report. Londoners’ optimism over prices rises has reached a high. The proportion of the 1,500 home owners surveyed across the UK who said that the value of their home had risen over the last month hit a new high of 19.8%, while a record low 6.3% indicated the value had fallen. In terms of tenure, those with a mortgage are the most upbeat about price rises, but expectations of house price rises also jumped sharply among those who privately rent a property.
